So did everyone enjoy the new episode this morning,
A Friend In Deed? I sure did! Obviously, Pinkie Pie is one of my favorites of the Mane Six, and an all Pinkie Pie episode was a real treat.
After Pinkie meets the newest resident of Ponyville, Cranky Doodle Donkey, she's astounded to find he doesn't automatically accept her as a new friend. This leads to a series of increasingly silly stunts in an effort to befriend the foul tempered beast of burden. Is there ANYTHING Pinkie can do to win him over?
Pinkie was spot on this episode, reaffirming her element of harmony at every turn, even if her efforts aren't exactly met with enthusiasm. New character Cranky could have just as easily been named Mr. Wilson, and it would have made perfect sense.
Notable moments for me in the episode include a very Looney Tunes-esque chase scene, with Pinkie clearly playing the role of Pepe Le Pew, Derpy's rather surprising background scene grab, A little continuity nod with Rainbow Dash, and Pinkie in general displaying a ton of troll physics. That was a really good episode re-cap :D
ReplyDeleteYou were right, we do have some common favorite scenes, hehehe. Thanks for checking out my blog by the way!
This will be my first time commenting on an episode re-cap so I'm not sure quite what to say to make this a worthwhile comment.
ReplyDeleteOverall, while this re-cap could do with more commenting, you do highlight a good number of the scenes with the screen caps, and in particular the surprising amount of cameo's and community nods in this episode (though one I would have added would be the cow from Applebuck season and her order of 'Oatmeal' cookies). I agree that this was a good episode, and I really like Cranky Doodle Donkey and how he wasn't presented as mean or villainous for rejecting Pinkie's friendship (heck, he even had good reason too). A nice re-cap and I shall be commenting on the rest soon.
