Pony Music Spotlight: Acoustic Brony (WITH INTERVIEW!)

Well guys, I am excited for this post. Not only will todays post be a music spotlight on the group Acoustic Brony, I actually have an INTERVIEW with the duo for you all to enjoy! I know, I know, I'm awesome. Now back to Acoustic Brony.

Hailing from the UK, the duo, going by E and J for anonymity sake, have created many wonderful pieces of brony-centric music, and have set the youtube world on fire, with close to 9,000 subscriptions (including yours truly), original music, music covers from the show, and just all around awesomeness.

I had the pleasure to meet E of Acoustic Brony on twitter during the recent Derpygate fiasco, and I asked if they would mind doing an interview with me. As you can see, the answer was yes!

CCC: Thank you so much for being here with us guys, I'm a huge fan, and always enjoy hearing new stuff from you guys. I'd just like to ask, how did you get into doing brony music?
E: Thank you for having us! Well, we actually went to the same college together and were in a band together. We used to always have practice days where we would just go through songs together and make music. Eventually we realised we were both Bronies and decided why not combine the awesomeness of our band with our massive love for MLP! So.. we did!
J: Yeah, we played mostly rock music but we weren't limited to that one genre, we played a huge assortment such as funk, blues, country and metal but rock was obviously our preferred genre. Then one day I decided to wear my RD shirt to college which Edd immediately took notice of. It was then that we discovered we were both into MLP:FiM. A few weeks later we noticed that there were people doing covers of the songs from the show, namely Eurobeat and RC88, we decided to try it ourselves and here we are now, despite the covers being quite bad quality at first, people seemed to enjoy them. So we continued on to the point where we started doing originals inspired by the show. The show has been a huge inspiration for original stuff, before MLP it was difficult coming up with ideas for songs.

CCC: Ok, I have to ask: Best Pony?
J: For me it's gonna have to be a 4-way tie between Applejack, Pinkie, Octavia and Vinyl Scratch but if I were to pick just one it would be Applejack.
E: Saw that one coming from Jimmy! haha. For me it would be a tie between 3 ponies. Rainbow Dash, DJ Pon3 and Derpy! Personally, there is no 'best' pony, they are all 'best' pony in one way or another. But personally I love Rainbow Dash! But, again, Everypony is bestpony! <3

CCC: I'd be lying if I said my favorite episode was anything but The Last Roundup. Derpy aside, it was a classically structured story with action, mystery and comedy all perfectly balanced. Which is your favorite episode?
J: It's definitely The Cutie Mark Chronicles for me because, 1. CMC episodes are always awesome and 2. Mane 6 fillies! What more could you want in an episode?
E: That is a very good choice and for me that would be a close second! For me, i would have to say, just for PURE AWESOME SONGSSS would be the 'A Friend In Deed' episode. Great selection of songs, a brilliant story line and just really enjoyable!

CCC: As I mentioned earlier, I had the pleasure to meet you E during the recent Derpygate scandal. Would you guys care to share your thoughts on the changes to Derpy?
E: Personally i think the fact that Derpy is being changed is unfair, but at the same time i'm not going to make a fuss over it. It needed to be changed in order to avoid and complications or problems and for that, i understand why they did it. It's a shame, don't get me wrong, and i do think that changing Derpy is more offensive and insulting than actually putting her in the show in the first place. But, what's done is done and we just need to be happy and grateful they did what they did for us, even if it didn't last long. After all, it's the thought that counts.. And i'm pretty sure there will be more Staff - Community collabs in the future.
J: I agree, the edit if you ask me personally was kind of unnecessary but people are overreacting about this. The higher ups did what needed to be done to avoid getting into more trouble and I can live with that. I love the things they do, the fact they are so close with us makes me really happy and so I'm trying not to overreact so as not to make them avoid us because I'd hate to break this bridge of friendship we've made with them.

CCC: Are there other Brony Musicians you guys enjoy and admire?

E: I think i speak for Jimmy also when i say.. *clears throat* *Says with GREAT speed* *MandoPony, AlexS, RainbowCrash88, Bronyfied, LivingTombstone, PrinceWhateverer, IBringDaLulz, Bejoty, ISMBOF, Artattack, MHM, Omnipony, Woodentoaster, JackleApp, Derpidety, PinkiePieSwear, TeiThePony, Yelling at cats, Bagpipe Brony, Derpy Hooves, Derpy Grooves, Dethonator, DustyKat, ChainAlgorithm, UnderPony, Stormwolf, Pipsqueak, Yaplap, Eurobeat, Makkon, AJtheengineer, Bronymike, Overkillius, AgileDash, iPie, SilvaHound, Tarby, Sogreatandpowerful, VoodooPony, NotACleverPony, H8Seed, DrDissonance, Foozogs, BronyJake, Thorinair, Dominian42 aka. J: Tons, but this list of people are out of so many more and we'd be here all day if we were to name them all.

E: Agreed! We love to listen to everyone And every single one of these guys has been an inspiration or support to us in some way! And would just like to say a big thank you and MUCH love to MandoPony for all the work we've done together! A lovely guy to work with and a great addition to all our work! Looking forward to working with him more in the future.
CCC: Do you have any particular songs you've done that you would like to share with us today?
E: Yeah sure, Umm.. For a song to share with everyone, i thought we would send over our song 'Loyalty' which is one of our most popular songs at the moment. We would also like to give a shoutout to a couple of our favourite songs from the fandom at this moment in time. One is 'Sunshine And Celery Stalks' by PinkiePieSwear & the other is 'I Love Everything' by JackleApp!

As well as this, we thought we would give you a small update as to what we're working on! In the near future you can expect our appearance on the 'Balloon Party' album by the 'My Little Remix' group. We will also be doing some awesome collabs with guys like PrinceWhateverer, MandoPony, ISMBOF etc.. and keep an eye out for a BIG release, Loyalty themed.
CCC: Well guys, this has been wonderful, thank you again for your time.
E: No problem at all, thanks for having us! It's been a pleasure!

Go check out Acoustic Brony on youtube, and until next time, have some music!
