SmokinD is back bronies, and today I have the pleasure of interviewing The Manliest Brony In The World, DustyKatt! Known for his videos on youtube which include parody vids, original music, and re imaginings of popular songs, Dusty is a man who loves his ponies.
CCC: Allright, first off, Id like to thank you for taking time out to sit and talk with us today. It is an honor to interview The Manliest Brony In The World.
Dusty: Thanks for having me here!
CCC:Your videos cover a wide range, from original music and your interpretations of songs from the show, all the way to flat out comedy pieces. Where do you get your inspirations?
Dusty: Hrrmm, well you could say I grew up with a lot of it. I like the orginal cast of Saturday Night Live. The first few seasons were all pretty good, I also like a lot of classic rock. I took choir in middle school and learned to love singing early on. I was also swept up in the Karaoke fad in the 90's. So I did a lot of singing then, and I've done comics and drawing most of my life. It's just another outlet for creativity I think.
CCC: One major thing I took away from your videos, such as your rendition of Becoming Popular, is how you approach a song that is decidedly feminine in nature, and you sing it without self consciousness. You are completely comfortable in your masculinity.
Dusty: Strange question, but yes last time I checked *Looks again* I had all the "tackle" to be called a man. But to be serious, You are who you are! I happen to be a 43 year old man who likes animation, this took me in the direction of a kids show called "My Little Pony, Friendship is Magic" because it is a good show. JUST because it's target demographic is teenage and preteen girls means jack squat to me. I like what I like and I dont let "Society" tell me what I'm supposed to like and not like. What is manlier? Being a sheep and going with the flow, or standing up for what you believe is right and enjoying what you want to enjoy without shame.
CCC: Do you feel your acceptance as a manly brony makes things any easier for those of us who are embarassed or afraid for others to find out?
Dusty: I just do what I do, I sing songs and make videos. I am happy that people like them, I dont have any ego telling me "I'm the manliest brony there for I'm the greatest thing since sliced avacados". But, if someone finds comfort in who they are and what they like because of me and what I do. That makes me feel good that I could help them.
CCC: Ok, I have to ask: Who is Best Pony?

CCC: Do you have a favorite episode?
Dusty: Sweet and Elite is a fav, but Suited for Success is the episode that hooked me.
CCC: For many bronies, the name "Derpy" is a touchy subject. Would you care to share your take on Derpy?
Dusty: I can see "why" they had to do what they did. Do I agree with it? No, I dont. It was a great chance to stand up and be proud of a character that was different. If the second voice was used in the first place we would not be having this talk. No one would have had a problem with it, some people took the low voice to mean someone was mentally handicapped. They put their own predjudices into a childerens show, and that is the sadest part of all.
CCC: Are there any other bronies in the community whose contributions you enjoy?
Dusty: Hell, most of them. d.notive, CyrilRufus, SaberSpark, Solrac, Pixelkitties, John Joseco *Drink*, The Beattle Bronys, Tarby, Mandopony, Wooden Toaster, Acoustic Brony, Aviators, ISMBOFepicly, there is too many to really list.
CCC: Do you have any future plans for your videos you would care to share with us?
Dusty: Hrrm, well I just think I'm gonna keep doing what I do. Never know what to expect! I think the suprise is what keeps people entertained
