Well folks, we are finally getting solid info on the Derpy scandal from last week. Over at Save Derpy We have an extensive email from Amy Keating Rogers, writer of The Last Roundup. It explains that the scene in question was actually much longer at first, and Derpy was given her show name, Ditzy Doo. Mrs. Rogers was asked to shorten the scene and give her the name Derpy as a shoutout to the fans.
Having done as she was asked, Mrs. Rogers did not see the episode until after the controversy over the name arose, but she did not have a problem with the scene, other than Ditzy/Derpy's voice was too low. She went online, and found that, for the most part, Derpy refers to clumsy, accident prone, etc, something she felt went along fine with the character.

Pony Music Spotlight: Acoustic Brony (WITH INTERVIEW!)
Well guys, I am excited for this post. Not only will todays post be a music spotlight on the group Acoustic Brony, I actually have an INTERVIEW with the duo for you all to enjoy! I know, I know, I'm awesome. Now back to Acoustic Brony.
Hailing from the UK, the duo, going by E and J for anonymity sake, have created many wonderful pieces of brony-centric music, and have set the youtube world on fire, with close to 9,000 subscriptions (including yours truly), original music, music covers from the show, and just all around awesomeness.
I had the pleasure to meet E of Acoustic Brony on twitter during the recent Derpygate fiasco, and I asked if they would mind doing an interview with me. As you can see, the answer was yes!

Save Derpy Hooves!
As many of you may know, iTunes took down the download of The Last Roundup shortly after it was posted, and no one was quite sure why. The main theory had to do with everyone's favorite Mail Mare, Derpy, having her first speaking role and being named in canon as Derpy.
Well, we may have been right. The Last Roundup was recently reuploaded, with Derpy's name no longer being mentioned, and with a more generic, girlish voice. (Derpy's voice actress originally thought Derpy was a boy, so her original voice was deeper.) There is also evidence of her eyes being "underped" or at least not as derped as they used to be.
Words can't express how much this disappoints me. Derpy has always been shown as well meaning and hard working, just clumsy, or for a lack of better term, derpy. Her behavior, her eyes, nothing about her is offensive. If anything, her cheery disposition and can do attitude despite her clumsiness should be celebrated.

A Friend In Deed: Episode Recap
After Pinkie meets the newest resident of Ponyville, Cranky Doodle Donkey, she's astounded to find he doesn't automatically accept her as a new friend. This leads to a series of increasingly silly stunts in an effort to befriend the foul tempered beast of burden. Is there ANYTHING Pinkie can do to win him over?
Pinkie was spot on this episode, reaffirming her element of harmony at every turn, even if her efforts aren't exactly met with enthusiasm. New character Cranky could have just as easily been named Mr. Wilson, and it would have made perfect sense.
Notable moments for me in the episode include a very Looney Tunes-esque chase scene, with Pinkie clearly playing the role of Pepe Le Pew, Derpy's rather surprising background scene grab, A little continuity nod with Rainbow Dash, and Pinkie in general displaying a ton of troll physics. Pony Music Spotlight: Mando Pony
It's that time again, bronies! Today's artist is Mando Pony, another very talented original music producer. He works with instrumentals, he sings, he's awesome. Today we will look at his songs about Rainbow Dash, Scootaloo, Apple Jack and Apple Bloom, a song from the V Scratch Sessions (DJ Pon-3 anyone?) and finally a song about everyone's favorite somepony, Derpy! Videos start after the jump!

Pony Music Spotlight: Aviators
I wanted to kick off this regular feature with one of my personal favorites in the Pony Music genre: Aviators. Aviators puts out amazing pieces of music at an incredible pace, often 2 to 3 songs a week. That's pretty impressive. Check out some songs after the jump!
